#A contax 645 professional
It was an ambitious foray in the professional portrait and wedding world where medium format was king (at the time) and competed against the likes of the Pentax 645N and. I sent this roll to Indie Film Lab (will be testing out different labs) If you need a quick refresher, the Contax 645 is a 6×4.5cm medium format, autofocus film camera introduced by Kyocera under the Contax brand on February 20th, 1999 in Japan. It is extremely user-friendly, like most 645 format- but unlike many larger medium format. Although the lens will fit physically, automatic diaphragm, auto-focusing or any other functions will not operate correctly while using this adapter. The Contax 645 is somewhat like a slightly overgrown 35mm model. This adapter allows all Contax 645 (6x4.5) Mount Lenses to fit on a Canon EOS Digital camera body. I honestly expected them to not turn out so great, being my first time and all. Contax 645 lenses use an electronic aperture which will not function with an adapter, the built in iris enables the lens to still be used with some functionality. So I asked Willa (awesome model) to let me test my first roll on her and here is what I got. This camera is insanely popular right now and I know why, its just fun to shoot ! While there were quite a few lenses for the 645 system, I only used the 80mm f/2 Zeiss Planar so I speak only to my experience with the camera and this lens. The Contax 645 medium format film camera. The Contax 645 is an autofocus camera and unlike the Contax AX 35mm camera I wrote about, the AF on the 645 is quite good and definitely usable. Any passion can turn dull without some fun, so I went out and got myself a fun new toy to play with. They are now getting old as cameras go and need servicing to keep on track like anything. So I think it is important to always challenge yourself and learn new things no matter what it is your interested in.
#A contax 645 manual
If you are shooting with a Contax professionally I would move onto another brand soon or buy two or three bodies as backup if you're going long term perhaps for parts/backup. Before using this camera, please read the instruction manual carefully for proper operation. No service departments will ever hold shutters like this in inventory - it's not within their requirement. I will be buying at least one spare shutter next year to keep on the shelf.

Kyocera will stock parts until 2014/5 as they agreed and then it's over. Tritec would be my only recommendation for C645 cameras to anyone now. Turn around was only 10 working days too!.

I now have a brand new shutter which should last a long time for me, spot meter should also last well and the auto focus is very snappy and good in very low light now.

All up a good price I thought - superior german workmanship i hope. Heard back after two days an paid them - shutter was €130 and labour for that and spot meter repair was double. Contact can be a bit tricky - maybe it's a language thing (my German isn't that great so wrote in english) or maybe they are super busy but after two /three emails heard from them, sent my camera body in with details of problem. I had my C645 body repaired by Tritec recently and recommend them.
